일본 해변에서 집단 폐사한 정어리떼.. '대지진 전조 현상' 일까?

A large quantity of anchovies were discovered washed up on the beach in Itoigawa City, Niigata Prefecture in Japan.
The anchovies stretched along a 200-meter section of the beach. The cause of the wash-up is unknown, but it is speculated that the anchovies were chased by dolphins or other marine creatures.
The Niigata Prefecture is removing the anchovies due to the risk of bad odor if left unattended.
A local construction company was contracted to remove the anchovies from the beach and about 50 people have gathered to pick up the anchovies by hand and put them in bags after washing them with sand and mud.
This is the first time such a large quantity of anchovies has been seen washed up on the beach, and local residents are surprised.
It is advised not to take the washed-up fish due to the unknown cause of the incident.

지난 8일 NHK는 일본 니가타현 이토이가와서 해안 인근에서 발생한 정어리떼의 집단 폐사에 대해 보도했다.
정어리떼는 해변 200m 구간에 걸쳐 뻗어 있었으며, 현지 주민들도 이런 현상은 처음 본다고 말했다.

이토이가와시 진흥국 이가라시 마사토시 부부장은 "생각지도 못한 양의 정어리떼에 현지 주민들도 놀랐다"며
"원인을 모르겠다"고 말했다.
다만 니카타현 수산 해양 연구소에 따르면 돌고래 등에 쫓겨 밀려왔을 가능성도 제기했다.

방치되면 악취가 날 우려 때문에 기가타현은 현지 건설회사와 계약을 맺었고
약 50여명이 투입되어 폐사한 정어리떼를 씻어 봉투에 담아 해변에서 치우고 있다.

당국은 원인을 알수 없이 죽은 정어리는 섭취하지 않는 것이 좋다고 권고했다.

동물들의 이상 행동은 대표적인 지진 전도현상으로 알려져 있다.
6일 튀르키예 가지안테프와 시리아 알레포 일대의 큰 지진 전에도
새들의 이상 현상과 개가 도로 한복판에서 크게 울부짖는 등의 모습이 포착됐었다.
