[Students Exercise While Learning With Bike Desks]

Two classrooms in a high school near Monterey, Mexico have been equipped with custom bike desks to help combat the adverse effects of the pandemic.
The school"s principal reports observing high levels of anxiety and obesity among students, as well as attention deficit.
The bike desks aim to help reverse these problems by allowing students to multitask, exercising their bodies while working their minds.
The desks were designed to be affordable in Mexico, with the goal of eventually replacing all the traditional desks in the school with active desks.
The students who have used the desks so far say they enjoy the physical activity and find it helpful in staying focused.

멕시코 몬테레이 외곽의 한 고등학교에는 두개의 교실에 맞춤형 자전거 책상이 설치되어 있다.

이 학교 교장인 Sanjuanita Garcia Marroquin은 이 시설이
학생들의 팬더믹 부작용중 일부를 회복하는데 도움이 될수 있기를 희망한다고 말했다.

Sanjuanita 교장은 대면수업으로 돌아온 아이들에게서 많은 불안과 비만이 급증되었고
높은 수준의 주의력 결핍도 보이고 있었다고 밝혔다.
그녀는 이 프로젝트를 통해 뇌의 산소 공급에 도움이 될수 있기를 바란다고 말했다.

한 보고서에 따르면 멕시코의 비만율은 놀라운 수준이며 대부분의 성인에게 영향을 미치고 있다.
아이들 또한 나이가 들면서 과체중이 될수 있다고 지적했다.

인터뷰에서 한 학생은 신체 활동을 하면 일상 활동에 계속 집중을 할 수 있다며
맞춤형 자전거 책상은 아주 만족스럽다고 말했다.

자전거 책상을 디자인한 회사는 모든 학교의 기존 책상을
맞춤형 자전거 책상으로 교체하는 것을 목표로 저렴하게 설계되었다.
